Peak XV Partners, a venture capital firm with over $10 billion in assets under management, has increased the investment ceiling for its seed-stage platform, Surge, from $3 million to $5 million per company. The new cohort, Surge 12, comprises 18 startups, with Peak XV investing over $50 million across the group, which has collectively raised more than $90 million in seed funding. Thirteen of these startups are targeting global markets, and over half are based in India. The firm noted that the bar for Series A funding has risen significantly, leading to larger seed rounds, especially for capital-intensive deeptech companies.
