Russian forces again attacked the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv in the early hours of Tuesday, a day after a drone strike hit the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences in central Kyiv, killing at least two people. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said missile debris fell into the courtyard of one building and another building caught fire. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday's nationwide drone attacks by Russia killed at least nine people and injured more than 80, adding that Ukraine is still struggling to counter Russia's faster, high-flying jet drones. Targets also included pharmaceutical companies, gas stations, business centers, and communications infrastructure, with major cellular network providers such as Kyivstar and Vodafone Ukraine being hit, as the Ukrainian government prepares for a potential complete communications blackout.
