CryptoSlate: Chainlink CCIP 2.0 New Features May Introduce Bridging Risks, Issuer Gating Could Halt Transfers
CryptoSlate analysis indicates that Chainlink CCIP 2.0's "optional enforced validators" feature could lead to delays or stagnation in token delivery on the destination chain after tokens are locked or burned on the source chain, thereby exposing bridging risks. This mechanism allows token issuers or third parties to operate an additional validator and make its approval a condition for token delivery. If this validator is unresponsive, all messages requiring its attestation could become stalled. Chainlink announced this feature on September 28.
