The Tigray Peace Force, aligned with the federal government, announced on Monday the capture of Alamata, a key supply hub about 120km south of Tigray's capital, Mekelle. This move could enable federal forces to advance north towards Mekelle. Meanwhile, Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) forces seized Erebti in the Afar region over the weekend, which could threaten supply routes from Djibouti. The fighting has intensified across northern Ethiopia in the past week, shattering the November 2022 Pretoria Agreement.
