Zcash developers released the Udon component of Project Tachyon to Zakura Common on Monday, a shared cryptographic library for Zakura and other Zcash projects. This move aims to prepare for the long-term goal of achieving over 50,000 private payments per second in the future. Udon brings some of the computations required for Tachyon's scaling upgrade into Common, allowing developers to accelerate code based on it. Currently, Udon has been released as software, but the upgrade has not yet been activated on the Zcash network. ZecStats data shows that as of September 28, the Zcash network processed an average of approximately 6,200 transactions involving private funds per day over the past 7 days, far below its long-term goal.
