The wallet, launched by privacy developer Aztec Labs, allows users to make private payments on the Aztec Network, concealing payment amounts and recipients. Users can deposit DAI, USDC, and USDT (USDC and USDT will be converted to DAI), but the sender and amount of funds deposited from Ethereum remain visible. To ensure system security, there is a $2,500 limit for each deposit, payment, and withdrawal, and all users share a daily deposit limit of $50,000. Joe Andrews, CEO of Aztec Labs, stated that these limits are safeguards while the system is in a new experimental cryptographic phase and will be raised as confidence grows and new versions are launched. The wallet also screens Ethereum addresses used for deposits and withdrawals against sanction policies. Aztec Labs previously launched zk.money in 2021 and shut it down in 2024, during which it served over 75,000 wallets and processed more than $100 million in funds.
