Report: Hong Kong Listed Company Executives Unprepared for AI Era, Less Than 1% of Directors Possess AI or Cybersecurity Skills
Grant Thornton Hong Kong's 15th annual Corporate Governance Review report reveals a severe lack of technological expertise among executives at Hong Kong's largest listed companies, with less than 1% of directors possessing specialized AI or cybersecurity skills. The report, which surveyed 100 major listed companies in the Hang Seng Composite Index, found that while 59% of companies identify cybersecurity or AI as a major business risk, only 11% have established a dedicated board committee to oversee digital threats and technology integration.
