Open Standard has launched its USD stablecoin, Open USD (OUSD), with support from companies including Coinbase, Mastercard, Stripe, and Visa. The stablecoin adopts a different model from Tether and Circle, aiming to foster growth by distributing equity to partners and eliminating minting and burning fees. Five founding partners have committed over $1 billion to establish OUSD liquidity. OUSD went live on Wednesday on the Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Tempo blockchains.
