Dogecoin ecosystem's DogeOS public testnet, Chikyū, has launched, bringing ZK-Rollup and EVM smart contracts to DOGE.
The Dogecoin ecosystem has launched the DogeOS Chikyū public testnet. Developed by the MyDoge crypto wallet team, the project is an EVM-compatible L2 application layer based on ZK-Rollup technology. This move marks Dogecoin's transition from a single payment method to a programmable DeFi ecosystem. DogeOS will use DOGE as the sole native gas token for paying transaction fees and deploying smart contracts on the L2 network. The project previously raised $6.9 million in a seed round led by Polychain Capital.
