The UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) opened applications for authorization on September 30. New rules, expected to take effect on October 25, 2027, will differentiate between crypto assets used as collateral for qualified borrowing and crypto assets lent out to earn yield. Under the new rules, companies can exempt Bitcoin used for yield lending from trust protection, while retail borrowing collateral will still require protection.
