The FBI has informed its employees via an internal memo to assume their personal information has been stolen, following claims by the cybercrime group ShinyHunters that it hacked the bureau's jobs site, FBIjobs.gov. ShinyHunters asserts it acquired 2-3 terabytes of data, including names, phone numbers, home addresses, and potentially spouse details, affecting all FBI staff and job applicants. The group claims the intrusion occurred via a zero-day flaw in Oracle's PeopleSoft software. Although the hackers had previously given the FBI one week to retract a warning against them, and that deadline has passed, ShinyHunters now states it does not plan to publish the data. The memo also advises employees to be vigilant for suspicious texts or calls.
