Micron outlines a new "physical AI" narrative, stating that autonomous driving and humanoid robots will be the next explosion points for storage demand.
Sanjay Mehrotra, Chairman and CEO of Micron Technology, noted that autonomous vehicles represent the first major deployment of physical AI, with L4 and higher autonomous vehicles typically requiring over 200GB of memory and several terabytes of storage. He emphasized that humanoid robots are expected to have similar demands, and by the end of the decade, physical AI will become a significant driver of storage demand.
