NEAR Intents Protocol was hacked, resulting in a $3.8 million loss, after previously freezing stolen funds from Bitget.
Multichain trading protocol NEAR Intents announced at 14:00 UTC on October 1 (GMT+1) that its Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure was exploited, resulting in a loss of $3.8 million for the protocol, and services were immediately suspended. The protocol stated that it had quickly detected, contained, and patched the "contract-side vulnerability," and trading has resumed on most networks. Previously, the protocol had frozen some stolen Bitget funds, of which $503,000 was successfully prevented from being withdrawn. Following this news, the price of NEAR Protocol's token NEAR fell from $5.1 to $4.79 within minutes of the disclosure.
