Saudi-led coalition accuses Houthis of attacking Medina power station on Tuesday, intercepting multiple drones and missiles on Thursday; Saudi Arabia approves $59.7 million aid to Yemeni government.
A Saudi-led coalition accused Iran-backed Houthi rebels of attacking a power station in the Saudi holy city of Medina this Tuesday, causing a transformer to go offline but without affecting the grid. The Houthis denied the accusation. The coalition stated that investigations confirmed the Houthis planned and carried out the attack. Additionally, on Thursday, the coalition intercepted and destroyed four drones and two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis in southern Saudi Arabia. In Yemen, Saudi-backed government forces claimed to have inflicted dozens of casualties on Houthi rebels in fierce clashes in Taiz province. Saudi Arabia also announced on Thursday the approval of 224 million Saudi riyals (approximately $59.7 million) in budget support for Yemen's internationally recognized government to bolster its financial stability and citizens' purchasing power.
