Napster co-founder Sean Parker is reshaping Stability AI, securing $76 million in investment from record labels including Sony, Warner, and Universal. Parker and Prem Akkaraju plan to transform Stability AI into an AI tool developer for music professionals, having received the investment in late August. The record companies have also authorized the use of their music catalogs for AI model training. Stability AI has released three new audio models and AI music editing software capable of generating instrumental tracks or segments from text prompts. Future updates will allow users to guide AI creation through humming or beatboxing.
