G7 leaders have agreed to an emergency release of 100 million barrels from strategic petroleum reserves via the International Energy Agency (IEA) to address the US-Iran conflict, including a priority release of a large volume of diesel within 20 days. Affected by this, US oil prices once plunged 5%, ultimately closing down about 2%, while international benchmark Brent crude closed down 0.1%.
