Philippines arrests 244 suspects in online scam crackdown
Philippine authorities have arrested 244 foreign workers, mostly Chinese, in their largest crackdown this year on illegal offshore gaming operators (POGOs). The suspects are accused of using POGOs as cover for crimes including human trafficking, fraud, and murder. Manila banned POGOs in 2024 due to their links to criminal activities.
