AI startup Reflection, which received an $800 million investment from NVIDIA, is preparing to release its first open-weight model, Axios reported on October 4. To support model training and scaling, Reflection has signed an agreement with SpaceX to pay $150 million per month for access to NVIDIA GB300 chips starting in July 2026. It has also reached a computing capacity agreement worth over $1 billion with cloud computing company Nebius. Both contracts extend until 2029. Reflection's core vision is to build "AI factories" that allow enterprises to create customized AI systems by combining their own data, Reflection models, and proprietary computing power. It has already signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korea's Shinsegae Group to build an AI factory.
