According to CoinMarketCap data, XRP ranks first in trading volume in the South Korean crypto market, surpassing Bitcoin and Ethereum. This surge coincides with the conclusion of the XRP Seoul 2026 conference, where a regional development strategy for distributed ledger technology was unveiled. A key market catalyst was the outcome of behind-the-scenes negotiations during Seoul Crypto Week, where Kakao Bank, a South Korean digital bank with 27 million customers, approved the deployment of its blockchain infrastructure in 2027 and is analyzing the integration of XRP Ledger (XRPL) for custody services and RWA tokenization. Woori Bank and K Bank have also expressed interest in XRPL. To coordinate these initiatives, the XRP Asia Hub was announced at the conference. Analysts caution that XRP's leading position in the South Korean market is primarily driven by domestic regulatory factors, rather than a global asset shortage.
