Microsoft has started taking preorders for its new Surface Laptop Ultra, which features an Nvidia AI chip and is priced from $2,599. The device, announced at a company event in San Francisco on Wednesday, will begin shipping on October 16. It can be configured with up to 128 gigabytes of unified memory and deliver up to one petaflop of computing power, matching the computing power of Nvidia's 2016 DGX-1 data center server, which cost $250 million.
