U.S. suspends Microsoft and Adobe from green-card labor program due to multiple federal investigations
The U.S. Department of Labor announced it would suspend Microsoft and Adobe from its Permanent Labor Certification program on Thursday, citing "multiple active federal investigations" around the two companies' involvement. Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling stated the department will not accept or process new applications under the program for these companies, as well as Cognizant, Infosys, Capgemini, Tata, Wipro and HCL. Sonderling noted that since 2009, these companies alone have requested almost 3 million foreign workers, received over 230,000 H-1B visa approvals and over 100,000 permanent labor certifications.
