Colombian Foreign Minister Omar Bula Escobar is scheduled to travel to Jerusalem on Sunday ahead of the inauguration. Colombian President Abelardo De la Espriella had previously promised closer ties with Israel during his election campaign and restored diplomatic relations after taking office, following a period where ties were severed over Israel's war in Gaza. Saar also hinted that the Democratic Republic of the Congo and potentially Brazil could follow suit in opening embassies in Jerusalem.
