More than 80% of buildings in the Gaza Strip have been damaged or destroyed since Israel launched its war on the area in October 2023, Al Jazeera reported. UNESCO has verified damage to 164 cultural sites, including mosques, churches, archaeological sites, and museums, leaving many neighborhoods unrecognizable and causing widespread destruction to infrastructure.
