NBA Commissioner Adam Silver expressed confidence on Friday that the league will get a deal done with EuroLeague to help launch NBA Europe, a new European basketball league. This comes after EuroLeague basketball owners earlier this week rejected a formal offer from the NBA to form a merged league. Silver dismissed the rejection as "a bump in the road," stating that negotiations are ongoing. He confirmed that the NBA has received bids for "many hundreds of millions of dollars" from existing European clubs, "big soccer brands," and wealthy individuals interested in buying the 12 new permanent NBA Europe teams, which are targeting markets including London, Paris, Rome, Munich, Barcelona, Athens, and Madrid. The NBA continues to target an October 2027 launch date for NBA Europe. Silver also confirmed plans to send two WNBA teams to Macao as soon as next season for preseason games.
