Yemen's internationally recognized government has warned of an "imminent health and humanitarian catastrophe" in the besieged city of Taiz, as medical services risk shutting down. The Ministry of Public Health and Population stated on Saturday that essential supplies like medicines, intravenous fluids, and fuel are "nearing depletion" in the city's health facilities. Emergency care, surgery, intensive care, dialysis, and neonatal services could be forced to stop, putting patients and newborns at immediate risk. The renewed siege by Houthi forces began in early October, cutting the last main road between Taiz city and government-held areas.
