Attacks in the Strait of Hormuz escalate as US Central Command bombs a cargo ship attempting to breach the blockade, and Iran's Revolutionary Guard warns oil tankers to comply with regulations.
Efforts to end the war with Iran have stalled as attacks in the Strait of Hormuz escalate again, Al Jazeera reported. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Sunday released a video showing a fighter jet bombing the stern of a Panamanian-flagged cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman, disabling it, as part of a naval blockade of Iran's southern ports. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said late Saturday that an unnamed crude supertanker hit a mine and caught fire while traveling on an unauthorized route, warning that any tanker "disregarding the security and rules of the strait" would face a similar fate.
