Alexandr Wang, Meta's Chief AI Officer, shared the process of his team building the core product Muse on the well-known American blog "David Senra" on October 11. He revealed that after Meta's Llama 4 failed to meet company expectations, Zuckerberg proactively contacted Wang in 2025, leading to Meta acquiring a 49% stake in Scale AI, and Wang himself joining Meta as Chief AI Officer. Wang's team completed the development of Muse within seven months with a team of less than 200 people. Their core strategy was to bet on consumer-grade personal AI, rather than the programming agents that were widely favored by the industry at the time. Wang believes that Meta's distribution capability with 3.5 billion daily active users makes it naturally suited for consumer-side AI.
