Intel and Broadcom CEOs warn that capital is the biggest bottleneck for AI, with Broadcom's CEO stating some investors are "gambling in a casino"; Musk responds: Don't cry when you're in a casino.
On October 12, Broadcom CEO Hock Tan and Intel CEO Patrick Gelsinger both stated at the DBS Asian Insights Conference in Singapore that the biggest constraint in the AI industry has shifted from chip supply to capital. Tan pointed out that as AI infrastructure continues to expand, financing difficulties may surpass any hardware shortages, adding that many investors simply don't know what they are investing in, likening the behavior of some AI investors to placing bets in a casino. Musk reposted a related post on X, responding with "Don't cry in the casino." Affected by this, Broadcom's stock price fell by 1.88% that day, and Intel's decline reached 3.20%.
