MediaMarkt, an official Ledger distributor in Germany, has delisted all Ledger products following reports that devices sold by the retailer were implanted with spyware.
German consumer electronics retailer MediaMarkt has ceased selling all Ledger hardware wallet products, removing them from both its online and offline platforms. This follows reports that some Ledger devices may have been implanted with physical spyware, leading to the theft of $86 million in funds. MediaMarkt has contacted Ledger regarding the incident and stated that it takes the matter very seriously. Ledger has indicated that, so far, only wallets sold by Malaysian distributor CryptoBilis have been confirmed to be involved in the fund theft, but it is reviewing reports of implants from other locations and distributors.
