Musk retweeted a post stating that SpaceX's Starlink satellites use argon ion propulsion technology. The V2 Mini thrusters achieve 170mN of thrust, which is 2.4 times that of the first-generation system, and an impulse increase of 1.5 times. This technology enables Starlink satellites to enter operational orbit, avoid space debris, maintain position, and de-orbit at the end of their lifespan. SpaceX initially used krypton but later switched to argon, making Starlink the first spacecraft system to use argon propulsion in space.
