Three Saudi Pro League matches, including one featuring Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr FC, have been postponed due to Houthi attack threats.
The Saudi Professional League (SPL) announced that three matches originally scheduled for the ninth round have been postponed due to a significant escalation in missile threats from Yemen's Houthi rebels. Among them, the match between league leaders Al-Hilal and Al-Riyadh, as well as the match between Al-Ittihad and Al-Shabab, have been rescheduled for December 19. The match featuring Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr against Al-Ahli has been postponed until March 6, 2027. Previously on Monday, an Al-Nassr match in the AFC Champions League was also delayed by an hour after Houthi missiles fired towards the Saudi capital were intercepted. Recently, Houthi rebels launched an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, resulting in 14 deaths, hundreds of injuries, and a suspension of airport operations. They have threatened to continue attacking Saudi airports and oil facilities.
