Elon Musk: Starship fuel mostly oxygen, easy to make on Mars, enabling solar system transport
Elon Musk forwarded a post and commented that Starship's fuel is primarily oxygen (78%) and a simple fuel (22%) that is easy to create on Mars and other parts of the solar system. He stated that a propellant depot on Mars would transform Starship into a generalized transport system for the entire solar system, allowing travel to the asteroid belt, Jupiter's moons, Saturn, and beyond. Musk also noted that Starship features propulsive landing with no parachutes and a heat shield capable of Earth or Mars re-entry, adding that while it could potentially go to Venus, "Venus is hell, almost literally."
