Rivian's CEO stated that its electric vehicles will be able to run AI agents from companies like Anthropic in the future.
Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe stated this week at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference that future Rivian vehicles will be able to run AI agents from other companies, such as Anthropic. Scaringe did not disclose a specific implementation timeline, with more details expected to be announced at the "AI and Autonomy Day" event in December. Rivian has already developed an internal AI assistant that allows users to interact with the vehicle via voice and plans to integrate external AI agents into its in-car software, but emphasized that for safety reasons, vehicle-level controls will not be handed over to AI agents.
