Saudi Arabia says 2027 Asian Cup preparations remain on schedule despite Houthi attacks
Saudi Arabia's local organising committee stated late on Thursday that preparations for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup are still on schedule, despite escalating Houthi attacks on the kingdom. The tournament is set to begin on January 7 in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al Khobar. AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa said on Wednesday that a final decision could wait until the end of November, adding that a one-year postponement to 2028 is possible if needed.
