Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) announced it has delayed its plan to shorten the settlement time for share transactions to the second half of 2028. The decision follows widespread industry requests for more preparation time, with the exchange receiving 109 responses from brokers and investment managers. HKEX had initially proposed implementing the T+1 system in the fourth quarter of 2027.
