CoinShares: U.S. September CPI Exceeds Expectations, Digital Asset Funds See $434M Outflow; Bitcoin's Short-Term Outlook Remains Challenging
Digital asset management firm CoinShares reported that the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3.7% year-over-year in September, exceeding the expected 3.6%. Retail sales increased by 0.8%, also above the anticipated 0.3%. These stronger-than-expected economic data have fueled hawkish expectations for interest rate hikes, leading to outflows of $434 million from global digital asset investment products so far this week. CoinShares added that Bitcoin's short-term outlook remains challenging, but not fundamentally bearish.
