SEC's tokenized stock framework faces issuer pushback; Broadcom, Verizon, UnitedHealth object to OKX-ICE listing
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) new framework for trading tokenized stocks is encountering resistance from companies whose shares could trade. Broadcom, Verizon, UnitedHealth, and five other issuers have objected to trading on the planned OKX-ICE venue, a joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and New York Stock Exchange parent Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). Separately, Nasdaq has also said it would opt out of having its own shares tokenized under the framework, citing concerns about real-time best price display and consolidated tape reporting.
