Seoul stocks opened sharply lower on Monday following a technology-centered sell-off on Wall Street, as mounting concerns over whether heavy investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure can generate sufficient returns weighed on sentiment. The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) opened 3.17% lower and narrowed losses to trade down 95.95 points, or 1.69%, at 5,572.10 as of 9:15 a.m. local time.
