Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Monday released TorchNeuron, a new development tool designed to enable AI startups to easily migrate their PyTorch-based AI applications to Amazon's custom AI chip, Trainium. This move directly targets Nvidia's long-standing software advantage, which has made its hardware the default choice for AI applications. TorchNeuron allows PyTorch apps to run on Trainium with just a single configuration change, eliminating the need for code rewrites. Amazon also announced it will contribute code to the main PyTorch project to make the framework more hardware-agnostic for the broader developer community.
