Principal Asset Management, a U.S. asset manager, announced plans to become more active in the Asia-Pacific real estate market, believing investors are "under-allocated" to office properties in the region. Richard Hill, Senior Managing Director at the firm, noted that investors are seeking fast-growing markets to drive returns amid a high-interest rate environment. According to MSCI data, commercial real estate investment in Asia-Pacific increased by 29% year-on-year to $103.7 billion in the first half of this year. Hill also cautioned investors against withdrawing from the U.S. commercial real estate market despite geopolitical uncertainties and rising interest rates, emphasizing that the U.S. market is "too big to ignore."
