APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting highlights Hong Kong's 'super connector' role, say experts
Baptist University associate economics professor Billy Mak stated on Tuesday that hosting the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Finance Ministers' Meeting in Hong Kong for the first time will strengthen the city's role as a super connector and boost international confidence. He added that the meeting provides a two-way dialogue window, deepening regional cooperation, promoting cross-border financial connectivity, and benefiting the development of offshore renminbi business in Hong Kong. Lawmaker Alan Chan noted the meeting has attracted high-end business travelers, benefiting local hotels and offering opportunities to showcase Hong Kong.
