Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that safeguarding Iran’s interests and security is “an inviolable tenet of the country’s foreign policy”. He added that pursuing this, whether through diplomatic channels or legitimate defence, remains a top priority. Baghaei emphasised that utilising every diplomatic opportunity to prevent the escalation of tensions is a fundamental duty, as Iranian wisdom and prudence stress the importance of sound judgement and rationality in managing international crises.
