Israel shelled the Marjayoun region in southern Lebanon, following earlier attacks on Haddatha and Wadi al-Hujeir.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency, the Israeli army fired artillery shells at the Marjayoun region in southern Lebanon. Previously, Israeli attacks also targeted the Haddatha and Wadi al-Hujeir regions in the south. Since the war began on October 8, 2023, up to 1.2 million people have been displaced, and approximately 9,000 Lebanese have died. Israel reinvaded southern Lebanon in March, leading to the displacement of over 1 million people again and approximately 4,300 deaths. Since then, Israel has largely not withdrawn from Lebanese territory, instead consolidating what analysts call a long-term occupation, with over 50 frontline villages and towns completely destroyed. Israel continues to demolish homes south of the so-called "Yellow Line," a strategy mirroring its war in Gaza.
