U.K. inflation rose by a hotter-than-expected 3.5% in the 12 months to September, driven by surging motor fuel costs, cementing rate hike expectations. This marks a continuation of the upward trend, following 3.1% in August and 2.9% in July, and was above economists' forecast of 3.4%.
