Tether leads $15M Series A funding round for AI-focused payment startup Mural
Tether led a $15 million Series A funding round for New York-based Mural, an AI-focused payment startup. This investment, which included participation from North Island Ventures and existing investors, brings Mural's total funding to $28 million. Mural, founded by former Palantir engineers, provides fintechs and other platforms with infrastructure for managing accounts, payments, identity verification, and regulatory compliance across traditional banking networks and blockchains. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that as AI agents begin to move money, their connection to existing financial systems becomes essential, reflecting Tether's growing interest in infrastructure beyond stablecoin issuance.
