Sun Hung Kai Properties Sells Out 128 Hong Kong Apartments Amid Fed Rate Hike Expectations
Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP), one of Hong Kong's largest developers, sold out the latest batch of 128 apartments at its Sierra Sea project in the New Territories on Wednesday. The apartments were sold at discounted prices, starting from HK$12,714 per square foot, with individual units priced between approximately HK$5.47 million and HK$9.87 million. This move comes amidst the possibility of the U.S. Federal Reserve raising interest rates before the end of the year. Centaline Property Agency stated that long-term investors accounted for 60% of Wednesday's buyers, and it expects primary market transactions to reach 2,000 to 2,200 units this month, a six-month high.
