IBM's Q3 Revenue and Profit Exceed Expectations, CEO Krishna Highlights "Super Intelligence" Business Progress
IBM shares rose in after-hours trading on Wednesday after the company reported better-than-expected third-quarter results. IBM CEO Arvind Krishna stated that the company is helping clients deploy "super intelligence" to transform their operating models. The company's third-quarter revenue increased by approximately 5% year-over-year, with net income reaching $2.19 billion, or $2.30 per share, up from $1.74 billion, or $1.84 per share, in the same period last year. IBM expects its full-year free cash flow to increase by over $1 billion and maintained its 2026 revenue growth forecast at 4% to 5% at constant currency. Additionally, IBM announced it has agreed to acquire HRL Laboratories, a joint venture of Boeing and General Motors, for an undisclosed sum.
