Deutsche Bank energy analyst Michael Hsueh's research indicates that the trajectory of the Middle East situation will be key in determining Brent crude oil prices in 2027. If peace talks are achieved in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz returns to normal transit, oil prices could fall to $74 per barrel; if the conflict continues to spread, they could surge to $130. Incidents of vessel attacks in the Middle East region rose in October to their highest level since the war began, with Brent crude prices climbing to approximately $110/barrel, exceeding Deutsche Bank's previous baseline and adverse scenario forecasts. The bank admits that macroeconomic forecasts face an unusually high degree of uncertainty.
