BlackRock Financial Management and BlackRock Japan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SBI Holdings and Startale Group to explore connecting tokenized money market funds (MMFs) with SBI's JPY stablecoin, JPYSC. The three parties will explore this across three areas: technology and infrastructure, business and distribution, and regulatory and market development. BlackRock launched its tokenized fund, BUIDL, in 2024, which currently manages approximately $2.17 billion in assets. SBI and Startale launched Japan's first trust bank-backed JPY stablecoin, JPYSC, in June of this year.
