South Korea's Korea Communications Commission (KCC) announced on Wednesday that it has fined Google and Apple a combined 63.71 billion won (approximately $47.6 million). This marks the first time the two companies have been sanctioned under a 2021 law prohibiting forced in-app payments. Google was fined 42.9 billion won and Apple 20.81 billion won for compelling app developers to use their in-app payment systems and for unreasonably delaying app reviews.
